Healthy Food – IELTS Cue Card, Essay, Paragraph, Formal Dialogue & Complete Lexical Resources with Bangla Meaning
Healthy Food Paragraph
Healthy Food
Healthy food plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy body and mind. It provides essential nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and dietary fiber. A balanced diet helps us stay energetic, improves our immune system, and protects us from various diseases. Fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, milk, nuts, and whole grains are excellent examples of healthy foods. Nowadays, many people prefer fast food and processed food because they are convenient and tasty. However, excessive consumption of these foods can lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems. Therefore, we should develop healthy eating habits from an early age. Drinking enough water, avoiding junk food, and eating fresh and nutritious food regularly can significantly improve our quality of life. As the saying goes, “Health is wealth,” so maintaining a healthy diet should be one of our top priorities.
Essay: Good Food and Healthy Food
Good Food and Healthy Food
Food is one of the basic necessities of human life. It provides us with energy and nutrients that are essential for survival and growth. However, not all foods are equally beneficial. Some foods are delicious and enjoyable, while others are nutritious and contribute to our overall well-being. Therefore, understanding the difference between good food and healthy food is very important.
Good food is generally associated with taste, flavor, and enjoyment. People often prefer foods that are rich in sugar, salt, oil, and spices because they are more appealing to the taste buds. Fast foods, fried foods, sweets, and processed snacks are common examples of foods that many people consider delicious. While these foods may provide temporary satisfaction, excessive consumption can have negative effects on health.
Healthy food, on the other hand, contains the nutrients our bodies need to function properly. Fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, milk, whole grains, legumes, and nuts are considered healthy foods. These foods provide vitamins, minerals, proteins, fiber, and healthy fats that help maintain a strong immune system and prevent diseases. A healthy diet also supports proper growth, mental development, and physical fitness.
In modern society, many people prioritize taste over nutrition. As a result, lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease are becoming increasingly common. Medical experts recommend reducing the consumption of sugary drinks, excessive carbohydrates, unhealthy fats, and highly processed foods. Instead, people should focus on maintaining a balanced diet and engaging in regular physical activity.
Governments, educational institutions, and healthcare professionals should work together to raise awareness about healthy eating habits. Public campaigns, nutrition education, and proper food labeling can help people make informed choices about their diets.
In conclusion, while good food may satisfy our taste buds, healthy food nourishes our bodies and promotes long-term well-being. The ideal approach is to enjoy food responsibly while maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet. By making healthier choices today, we can ensure a healthier and happier future.
IELTS Speaking Cue Card
IELTS Speaking Cue Card
Describe a healthy food that you like to eat.
You should say:
- What the food is
- How often you eat it
- How it is prepared
- Why you like it
And explain why you think it is healthy.
Sample Answer
One healthy food that I really enjoy eating is grilled fish with vegetables. I usually eat it two or three times a week. It is a popular meal in Bangladesh and is highly recommended by nutritionists because it contains a good balance of protein, vitamins, and minerals.
The fish is usually marinated with a small amount of spices and then grilled instead of being deep-fried. It is often served with fresh vegetables such as carrots, cucumbers, spinach, and tomatoes. Sometimes I also eat it with a small portion of brown rice.
I like this meal for several reasons. First, it is very delicious and satisfying. Second, it is light and easy to digest. Unlike oily or heavily processed foods, it does not make me feel sluggish after eating. Moreover, fish contains high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for the heart and brain.
I consider this food healthy because it provides essential nutrients without excessive fat, sugar, or calories. It helps maintain good health, supports muscle growth, and improves overall well-being. In my opinion, including such healthy foods in our daily diet is one of the best ways to stay fit and prevent various diseases.
These three pieces are suitable for IELTS, spoken English, paragraph writing, essay writing, viva, interview, and academic examinations.

Mr. Krishna Kumar Sharma
(Guide, English Teacher, Founder & Mentor, Manchester English Academy)
Guest:
Mr. Apurba Sarker
(Teacher)
Continuing the Discussion
Mr. Krishna:
Apart from personal awareness, do you think the government should also work on promoting healthy eating habits among people?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Absolutely. I strongly believe that the government should come forward and take effective initiatives to raise public awareness regarding healthy food and nutrition.
Mr. Krishna:
That sounds reasonable. What kind of initiatives would you recommend?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
The government can arrange nationwide awareness campaigns through schools, colleges, universities, television channels, social media platforms, and community programs. They can also organize health seminars and workshops where nutritionists and doctors explain the importance of maintaining a balanced diet.
Mr. Krishna:
Excellent point. Awareness is indeed the first step toward change.
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Exactly. Many people consume unhealthy food not because they want to harm themselves but because they lack proper knowledge about nutrition and healthy eating habits.
Mr. Krishna:
That is true. Nowadays, many advertisements encourage people to consume fast food and sugary drinks. Do you think the media has a role to play here?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Certainly. Electronic and social media can play a vital role in educating people. Television programs, YouTube channels, and Facebook campaigns can spread important messages about healthy lifestyles. Since people spend a considerable amount of time on these platforms, they can be highly effective tools for public education.
Mr. Krishna:
I completely agree with you. However, changing eating habits is not easy, is it?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
No, it is not. Habits are deeply rooted in people’s lifestyles and cultures. Therefore, changing them requires time, patience, and continuous awareness-building efforts.
Mr. Krishna:
Well said. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and healthy habits are no exception.
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Exactly. It is a gradual process. If people consistently receive the right guidance and information, they will eventually make healthier choices.
Mr. Krishna:
Wonderful. Now, let’s talk about nutrition. Can you tell us about some foods that are rich in protein, energy, and dietary fiber?
Protein-Rich Foods
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Certainly.
Foods that are rich in protein include:
- Eggs
- Fish
- Chicken
- Lean meat
- Milk
- Yogurt
- Cheese
- Lentils
- Chickpeas
- Beans
- Soybeans
- Nuts
Protein is essential because it helps build and repair muscles, tissues, and cells. It also strengthens our immune system and supports overall growth and development.
Mr. Krishna:
Very informative. So protein can be considered the building block of our body, right?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Absolutely. Protein is often called the building block of the human body.
Energy-Giving Foods
Mr. Krishna:
What about foods that provide energy?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Foods rich in carbohydrates are the primary sources of energy. Examples include:
- Rice
- Bread
- Potatoes
- Sweet potatoes
- Oats
- Corn
- Pasta
- Bananas
These foods provide fuel for our daily activities and help us remain active throughout the day.
Mr. Krishna:
That makes perfect sense. We need energy to perform both physical and mental activities.
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Exactly.
Fiber-Rich Foods
Mr. Krishna:
Now, what foods are rich in dietary fiber?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Foods rich in fiber include:
- Green leafy vegetables
- Spinach
- Cabbage
- Carrots
- Cucumbers
- Apples
- Guavas
- Papayas
- Oranges
- Whole grains
- Brown rice
- Oats
Fiber plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy digestive system. It prevents constipation and helps regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
Mr. Krishna:
That’s excellent information. Many people overlook the importance of fiber in their daily diets.
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Yes, unfortunately they do. Most people focus on taste rather than nutritional value.
Balanced Diet
Mr. Krishna:
So, would you say that a balanced diet is the key to a healthy life?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Without a doubt. A balanced diet should include:
- Carbohydrates
- Proteins
- Healthy fats
- Vitamins
- Minerals
- Fiber
- Adequate water
When all these nutrients are consumed in proper proportions, our body functions efficiently.
Mr. Krishna:
A balanced diet is indeed the cornerstone of good health.
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
Absolutely. As the saying goes, “Health is wealth.”
Final Advice
Mr. Krishna:
Before we conclude today’s discussion, what final advice would you like to give our audience?
Mr. Apurba Sarker:
My advice is simple:
- Eat fresh and nutritious food.
- Avoid excessive junk food and sugary drinks.
- Include fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Exercise regularly.
- Get adequate sleep.
- Maintain a balanced lifestyle.

Mr. Krishna:
