How have your days been going recently with your PhD research in India?
Dr. Monir:
My PhD journey is going quite well. Recently, I started writing a new research article. I have already completed the introduction section and am now working on the next parts.

Importance of English in PhD Studies
Mr. Krishna:
Let’s talk about English. Is learning English important for your PhD?
Dr. Monir:
Absolutely. English is extremely important for my academic career. Most research articles, journals, conferences, and academic communications are conducted in English.
Furthermore, English helps me communicate with international students and professors. It also allows me to read scientific literature and watch educational videos related to dentistry.
Mr. Krishna:
Excellent point. Since English is an international language, it plays a crucial role in higher education and research.
Dr. Monir:
Exactly.
Importance of Tense
Mr. Krishna:
What do you think about English tenses? Are they important?
Dr. Monir:
Yes, they are very important. Tenses help us express actions correctly according to time. Without proper tense usage, communication can become confusing.
Although English is a language and tense is only one part of grammar, mastering tenses helps us speak and write more accurately.

Daily Routine (Present Simple Tense)
Mr. Krishna:
Could you please describe your daily routine using the Present Simple Tense?
Dr. Monir:
Certainly.
I get up early in the morning.
Then I go for a morning walk and enjoy the natural beauty around my campus.
After returning to my hostel, I take a shower and have breakfast.
Then I get ready and travel to my university campus.
I attend classes, conduct research, read academic materials, and write research articles.
I often discuss my PhD-related work with my friends and colleagues.
Sometimes I enjoy tea with my Indian and international friends, and we discuss research, literature, and current affairs.
I occasionally visit shopping malls to buy necessary items.
In the afternoon, I often go to the library, where I read journals and participate in group discussions.
After completing my work, I return to my hostel.
In the evening, I have dinner in the canteen.
Later, I study, watch English movies, read newspapers, and sometimes call my family.
Before going to bed, I brush my teeth, wash my face, and then sleep.

Life in Bangladesh
Mr. Krishna:
When you are in Bangladesh, what does your daily routine look like?
Dr. Monir:
When I stay in Bangladesh, I usually wake up around 7:00 or 7:30 in the morning.
After getting ready, I travel to my dental chamber by rickshaw, CNG, or motorcycle.
I examine patients and manage the activities of my dental clinic.
Sometimes I attend meetings with other doctors and discuss ways to improve our services.
I also discuss medicines, dental materials, and patient care with hospital authorities.
After work, I may visit the market, have tea with friends, or enjoy a motorcycle ride.
When I return home, I take a shower, rest, read newspapers, watch movies, write articles, or prepare PowerPoint presentations.
Finally, I go to bed and sleep.

University Life
Mr. Krishna:
Could you describe your university routine in India?
Dr. Monir:
Certainly.
I regularly communicate with my supervisor through email.
When my professor replies and schedules a meeting, I meet him and discuss my research progress.
Most of my time is spent in the hostel, classroom, library, laboratory, canteen, and research meetings.
Occasionally, I also go outside to relax and enjoy the environment.

How will English help you in the future?
Dr. Monir:
Improving my English will help me complete my PhD more effectively.
It will also help me communicate internationally, attend conferences, publish research papers, and collaborate with researchers worldwide.
Moreover, English helps in daily communication while traveling abroad, shopping, and building professional relationships.
Therefore, English contributes significantly to academic success, career development, and personal growth.
